ICU Intensive Care Unit

ICU or Intensive Care Unit is a special hospital division offering patients suffering from a severe accident or disease critical care medications and intensive care. The patients struggling from the most life-threatening and severe injuries or illnesses that require continuous and constant supervision by a staff of specialist physicians and nurses are treated in intensive care units. The ICU team is specialized in the treatment of patients who are badly injured or seriously ill. Other terms that are used instead of ICU are ITU (Intensive Treatment Unit) or CCU (Critical Care Unit).
