The Full Form of Google

A lot of confusion around the world is about whether Google has a full form or is it just a word created by the founder of Google. Google does not have an official full form. It is created from "googol" which means a huge number.

"Googol" means a word that is 1 proceeded by 100 zeros.

  • Larry Page and Sergey Brin started Google as a part of their research in 1996. Both were students of PhD at Stanford University.
  • The domain was registered on 14th September 1997 and the corporation was established the next year in 1998.

  • In 2001, the term PageRank was patented.
  • In 2004, G-mail was launched.
  • In 2005, Google maps and Google Earth were introduced.

Creating a Google Account

You can get access to many Google products using a Google account of your own. You can do things like:

Step 1: Choose the type of Google Account.

For myself or To manage a business

Note: You can turn business personalization on when you create a Google Account for your business. Also, setting up a Google Business Profile is easier if you already have a business account. This will help you improve your business visibility and manage your online information.

Some personal information is required while creating a Google Account. You can help keep your account secure by providing accurate info and this would also make the services provided by Google more useful.

Tip: Gmail account is not required to create a Google Account, rather you can use your non-Gmail email address to create one instead.

  1. Visit the sign-in page of Google Account.
  2. Click on Create account.
  3. Fill in your name.
  4. Enter a username in the "Username" field.
  5. Fill in and confirm your password.
    • Tip: The first letter isn't case sensitive when you enter your password on mobile.
  6. Click Next.
    • Optional: You can provide and verify a phone number for your account.
  7. Click Next.

Use an existing email address

  1. Visit the sign-in page of Google Account.
  2. Click on Create account.
  3. Fill in your name.
  4. Now, click on Use my current email address instead.
  5. Fill in your current email address.
  6. Click on Next.
  7. With the code sent to your existing email, verify your email address.
  8. Click Verify.

Step 2: With recovery information, protect your account.

Updated recovery info makes it much more likely you’ll get your account back in case you forget your password or someone is using your account without your permission.
